How to draw spring flowers – let’s get started!

Step 1

As we work through this guide on drawing spring flowers, we’ll draw a beautiful selection of flowers. For this first step, we will draw some flowers’ outlines. For the two flowers we’re drawing in this first step, you can draw several long, curved shapes that form around a round center for the petals.

Then we’ll use more curved lines with pointed tips for some surrounding leaves, and there will be a line down the center of each leaf. That will have you ready to add to this beautiful image in the next step of the guide!

Step 2

This second step will see you add another beautiful flower to this spring flower drawing. This one will have a fairly similar structure to the first two you drew, but there will be some subtle differences.

First, we will draw a circular center for the flower. This will be drawn using a slightly jagged line. Then the petals surrounding this center will also be drawn with some curved lines, but they will have pointed tips instead of rounded ones.

Then you can draw some thin leaves sticking out with some larger ones. That’s it for now, and once that’s done, we can move on to the third step of this guide.

Step 3

You can never have too many flowers, which is true for this drawing! Therefore, we will add two more flowers at the end of this third step of our guide on drawing spring flowers.

These next flowers will also look a bit different than any previous ones we’ve drawn. Both flowers will have smooth circular centers, and the petals will be large and round.

One flower will be slightly smaller than the other, and we will also surround these flowers with some more leaves. That will have you ready for step 4 of the guide!

Step 4

For this step of your spring flower drawing, we’ll go back to where you started as we add some detail to the first two flowers you drew for this arrangement.

You can start by drawing two smooth circles in the center of each of these flowers. Once they’re drawn, you can surround these circular centers with some small jagged lines for more detail.

Once it looks like our reference image, you’re ready for the fifth step of the guide, where we’ll finalize some final details and elements.

step 5

It’s almost time for the final step of this guide on how to draw spring flowers, but first, we have some finishing touches and details to add! You’ll also get a chance to add some final extra details of your own, but we’ll focus on the details in this guide first.

First, we’ll add some small curved lines to the petals of these flowers to give them some extra textural detail. You can then add some vein details to each leaf surrounding the flowers.

That will have you ready for the final step of the guide! Before continuing, you can even count some additional details of your own. These could include a few more flowers for the arrangement or a fun background. What else can you think of to finish off this incredible image?

Step 6

This is the final step of this spring flower drawing, and now you can add some wonderful colors to finish it. In our example image, we show you just a few colors you could use to finish this image.

We used some beautiful blues for the first flowers, some deep purples for the second batch, and then a bright red for the final flowers. While these colors look great and are certainly ones you could wear, you should also feel free to wear any other colors you prefer!

What will you choose to finish off your incredible drawing? We can’t wait to notice what shades and art mediums you choose!
